We Built Our Mascot for About $120

· 4 min read

Robots in suits pitch a giant storyboard and a huge invoice to a worried client, while next door a tiny home studio of robots shapes a big-headed mascot puppet in front of a screen full of video clips

Today I want to talk about a huge opportunity to turbocharge your brand.

The trilogy: AI models, AI agents and AI video models.

For us, that trilogy has a face. His name is Galaxy Brain Tim.

Tim’s a super smart guy who figured out how to harness agents. He’s speed running everybody at his work, his small business, or wherever else we drop him for the ad that’s trying to reach our audience.

“Research Animal”: Tim explains the sauce to his coworker over sushi. One of the hundreds of clips we made.

The old pipeline

This used to be hidden behind lots of capital, lots of headaches and lots of outsourcing.

The pipeline looked like this. Hire a creative agency to build the whole thing, the ad and the marketing campaign. Then pay them again to figure out placement. Facebook? Google? TikTok ads? Magazines, or some niche publication that hits your audience?

Friction. Time. Cost.

A business might pay $30,000 to $40,000 for a campaign built around a character like Tim.

The old way: brief, agency concepts, ad campaign, placement, $30K to $40K and weeks. The trilogy: speak it, AI model, agents, AI video model, about $120 and 5 to 6 hours
Fig 1. Same outcome, a character people remember. Very different bill.

How Tim was born

Look at today. You use the AI models to come up with a character reference in the style and type you want.

For us it was a frustrated office worker. A smart one.

Version one was just an office worker. Version two asked: how do we show he’s smart because he uses agents? Then it hit us. A huge galaxy brain. Of course. That’s what we needed.

Four steps: a frustrated office worker at his spreadsheets, the first galaxy-brain painting, the locked eight-view reference sheet, and Tim at a sushi lunch
Fig 2. From frustrated office worker to Galaxy Brain Tim.

So Galaxy Brain Tim walks around looking like a normal human. But he’s really, really smart, because he’s using agents. He looks superhuman. Everybody thinks he has some secret sauce, and they keep asking him what it is.

He’s really just the first one to learn about it. He’s always on X, picking things up from Elon and the other tech heads posting there.

Then we used the AI models to make videos. Hundreds of them. Clips and clips and clips. Over a few weeks we developed the look, the feel, the voice, the styling, the nuance.

Now he’s on all our blog surfaces and all our brands. He even teaches our course at skool.agints.com. He’s the face of the business.

Why a character beats a logo

You don’t have to remember the logo. You don’t have to remember the name.

But you’ll remember the big-headed guy when he scrolls by in a video. And he’ll at least remind you of this thing called agents.

That’s a transformative branding asset. It tells the world this is who we are, and people recognize it in a second.

Pennies per clip

Here’s why the trilogy matters. You can make these clips for pennies.

Making hundreds of clips cost us about $100 to $120. fal.ai ran promos all of August and September, basically one second of video for 2.5 cents.

Granted, we run a video creation platform, edets.com, so we have a lot of experience with AI models. But the point stands. We shaped this brand asset over a few weeks for very few dollars: the look, the style, the voice, the character reference sheet, the environment, and what he does.

At most 5 to 6 hours of back-and-forth and about $120. That’s how we’re front-running businesses that pay $30,000 or $40,000.

The creative loop

AI video models are some of the best deals on the planet right now if you want a brand. Why? You can iterate through the creative process in seconds, for pennies. That’s never been possible.

Speak your creative mind into a microphone. Have an AI model clean it up into a prompt. Send it to an AI video model, like the ones edets.com hosts. Get a clip back in 5 to 10 seconds.

Then say, no, I want this color, this styling, the room needs to look like this. And keep shaping.

The creative loop: speak it, clean it with an AI model, generate a clip in 5 to 10 seconds, reshape and repeat, lock the reference sheet, distribute
Fig 3. Speak, generate, reshape. Five to ten minutes per look.

After 5 or 10 minutes you’ve got exactly what you want. Save it. Bake it in as the brand asset. Now your brand has a voice, a style, a look and a flavor people recognize everywhere.

Agents are the connector

Millions of businesses are going to learn how to do this. How to run their own brand creation pipeline, and their own brand distribution pipeline.

Agents sit in the middle of the trilogy. The connector. The substrate that makes all of it happen.

The trilogy: AI models for words, AI agents as the connector in the middle, AI video models for clips

You’re going to see a lot of Galaxy Brain Tims pop up on social media. Really weird characters with really weird traits. Recognizable, funny and, more than anything, engaging.

Not plain-vanilla people with average looks. Crazy things from creative geniuses that convert into real dollars in real bank accounts.

I’m excited, because this is just how things get done now. Agents turn brand creation into something a one-person band, or a two-person team, can run to punch way above its weight in marketing.
