Grok Bot: put changing facts in /workspace, not Bot memory
WhenUse when a Bot is about to 'remember' a fact that will go stale in the profile.
StopNever store rotating facts only in Bot memory. Never treat chat as the system of record.
Steps
- Durable files live at /workspace on the shared cloud computer. Ask Bots to keep project files there with clear folders (docs.x.ai/grok-bot/computer-and-apps).
- Bot memory can keep stable preferences / role summaries. It is not the source of truth for facts that change. Keep changing facts in the source system or a file the Bot re-reads (docs.x.ai/grok-bot/bots, FAQ).
- Description = standing rules. Message = this week’s task. Skill = method. Routine = clock.
- reads /workspace/learner-profile.md
- checks each prerequisite against background + completed resources
- adds page durations (preserve conflicting duration fields; use the upper bound only for the budget check)
- returns the agreed fields
- stops before any action that needs approval
